Sustainability Strategy for Ralph Lauren

Developed a conceptual sustainability strategy based on Ralph Lauren’s operations and goals, centered on ethical supply chains, a collaborative sustainability ecosystem, and zero-waste design—bridging heritage craftsmanship with forward-thinking sustainability.

Key Focus Areas

  • Ethical Supply Chains

Developed a roadmap for transparent, responsible sourcing that prioritizes fair labor practices, material traceability, and stronger supplier accountability throughout the value chain. The strategy also emphasizes long-term partnerships, capacity building, and third-party verification to ensure lasting social and environmental integrity.

  • Sustainability Ecosystem

Proposed a decentralized incentive framework designed to drive collaboration across suppliers and partners through shared sustainability credits. The system connects progress in renewable energy, water stewardship, and material circularity, encouraging innovation while reducing Scope 3 emissions and building collective accountability across the value chain.

  • Zero-Waste Design

Explored circular design solutions to minimize textile waste through pattern optimization, modular construction, and material recovery systems. The strategy focuses on integrating zero-waste principles into creative development and production, aligning Ralph Lauren’s craftsmanship with a regenerative and forward-thinking design philosophy.

Strategic Impact & Alignment

Each solution was guided by defined goals and measurable outcomes, addressing key areas across Ralph Lauren’s value chain. The framework strengthened traceability within Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers and introduced a sustainability ecosystem to incentivize renewable energy, water stewardship, and material circularity.

A three-year roadmap with KPIs outlined how these strategies could be integrated to achieve measurable progress. Each proposal aligned with Ralph Lauren’s sustainability pillars—Create with Intent, Protect the Environment, and Champion Better Lives—while also supporting multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Beyond the strategies themselves, the project highlighted the importance of communication, bridging sustainability and storytelling to help luxury brands express responsibility with authenticity and purpose.
